As missionaries in a city, what are we doing for our city? This has been the thought running through the minds of many of our committed staff over the past few months. Our training programs and Homes of Hope house building have been a real focus and success at our base, but the desire to do more in the city has been slowly growing in all of our hearts. A few weeks ago, much to our excitement, the leadership team at our base announced that we would begin to do outreach to the city as an entire base every Thursday! We were thrilled at the way God was working in us and the leadership team at the same time, totally confirming all that he’s doing in this base and in this city. We are now, every week, sending out five teams to different areas around the city; including ministries to the poor communities, an orphanage, and the local university, as well as distributing bibles and running a sports camp for the youth. As a couple and as a base, we are so very excited to be starting all of these new things! Please pray with us that through all of our efforts, we would continue to reach the end goal of more Mexicans encountering God and knowing Him in their lives.
For a short personal update from us…. Just recently we were very blessed to find a new home for rent three minutes away from the base and for a miraculously affordable price! We have certainly been enjoying the endeavors of setting up a home and really settling in.
