Can you believe we’ve been here for just over a year now? We want to share with you just a taste of all we’re doing in Mexico. Things are busy as always and we are diving deeper and deeper into what God has for us here. For us personally, Kendra has been totally revolutionizing the kitchen and feeding the whole crew, while Jordan has taken a new position as Community Life Director on the base. As always, we’re also blessed to be apart of a number of ministries that reach out to the community as well as training schools and outreaches that reach to other parts of Mexico and around the world. Here’s just a glimpse of it all….
Training and Evangelism are a huge part of what we do as a base. Over the past year we have run 5 training schools, each sending outreaches around the world including Brazil, Spain, Morocco, Panama, Ecuador, and local outreaches to other parts of Mexico… evangelizing and spreading the gospel to 100’s of new believers! Our favorite example of this was in seeing 237 people come to know the Lord here in Mazatlan through our Carnaval outreach in February of this year.
Kids gather from all around the village when we come together to construct a new home for a family in need. Our ministry, Homes of Hope, builds community as the kids join in building, play soccer, and get plugged into churches with their families. On one of our last builds we were so stoked to see that a few kids we’ve been getting to know over the past year were finally getting new homes of their own! Anyone can be a part of Homes of Hope so let us know if you want to come on down.
Our first year here has been a real challenge at times. Leaving the comfort of our culture and language wasn’t easy but we’re so happy to say that we’re really starting to feel at home, and really falling in love with Mexico! We’re learning spanish, getting settled into our roles in the ministry and making Mazatlan more of a home(though we miss our other homes dearly!). As we look back on all the challenges and all of the growth, it is such a confirmation of the calling that God has put on our lives. We want to say a special thanks to all those who have given to us financially, our monthly partners, and our prayer warriors. You are here with us making a difference!
