A quick update from Kendra:
Hey all, Kendra here! I’m writing to share some very exciting news. (No…no babies on the way just yet!) Well, this short story actually begins a few years ago when I first felt the Lord put heavily on my heart a passion to work with teenage women in ministry. At the time, I didn’t know what this meant, but simply knew that there was where my passion truly was…
So fast forward to being here with YWAM Mazatlán in Mexico. God has taught me so very much through the past few years with YWAM, along with having the opportunity to learn Spanish. Hooray! But now, over the past few weeks and months, it’s come to my attention that the Lord has something else up his sleeve!!!
Here in the city, we have another christian missionary organization called Back2Back. The following is their mission statement….
“We exist to love and care for orphans and vulnerable children, by meeting their spiritual, physical, educational, emotional and social needs that they might overcome their life circumstances and break free from the cycle of generational poverty.”
Sooo… drum roll please….. I have been given the privilege of serving alongside Back2Back here in Mazatlan! One of the main areas in which I will be serving is a girls safe-home located 10 minutes from our home. There are currently 10 adolescent girls that live at this home, who have been removed from their former families by the government mainly due to violence and sexual abuse situations. I will be working alongside the Back2Back “Captain” of this home to serve the girls through this season of their lives, showing them love and working to lead them to the true love of Christ. So very exciting!!!
So what does this mean? Am I leaving YWAM!?
No, of course not! I will continue to be a part of the YWAM family, serving with certain events, and continuing to lead the Soccer Club with Jordan. Jordan will continue full-time with YWAM Mazatlan, and I will be more part-time involved, as I shift my main focus to working with the young ladies at FloreSer.

So, there you have it… our life update in a nutshell! Other than that, life and ministry have been going very well! Unfortunately at this time I am unable to share any photos from the girls home, but hopefully in the future I will have a few photos I can post of these beautiful young ladies!
